Serving God in Costa Rica...and locally

Updates from our mission team in Costa Rica: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, and Day 6

We had no worship service on July 4 while our mission team was in Costa Rica. Instead we asked everyone to go out into the community and serve others. Just as our mission team was and is serving in Costa Rica, we want you to be on mission in our community. We are to go and BE the church. Find a way to serve others and show God's love this 4th of July.

Here are some ideas:

  • Give away Blow-pops around the community or at a local park
  • Take bottles of cold water to a fireworks show and hand them out
  • Do a house-to-house Free Picnic -- give away hotdogs, chips, cookies, soda, watermelon (all or some) to your neighbors during the afternoon
  • Take Glow Sticks or Bracelets to fireworks show and hand them out to kids
  • Take balloons to local park and hand them out
  • Take your neighbors a small potted flower or package of flower seeds
  • Wash car windows somewhere in the community (recommend get permission first for business)
  • Help at a local grocery store by collecting carts in the parking lot
  • Give away free freezepops or popsicles
  • Hand out $1 off coupons to local ice cream place or fast food restaurant
  • Pickup trash along the road in your community
  • Volunteer to spray weeds for your neighbors
  • Be creative and look for ways to serve your neighbors and community
