Dr. Timothy F. George to preach at TJC in Fall 2016

Dr. Timothy F. George, Dean of Beeson Divinity School, will preach
on the Bible doctrines that gave rise to the Protestant Reformation of
the 16th century on Sunday, October 16, 2016 during the 10:00AM
morning worship service at The Journey Church of West Chester, PA. A
special talk will also take place at 4:30PM on Sunday evening when Dr.
George will speak on the subject: "Is the Father of Jesus the God of
This talk will compare and contrast the doctrines of
Christianity and the teaching of Islam.

Dr. George will be available after both services to take questions and
sign copies of the 25th anniversary edition of his best-selling book,

Timothy George has been the dean of Beeson Divinity School of Samford University since its inception in 1988. Trained in theology and church history at Harvard University, he is the author of more than twenty books, including Theology of the Reformers, John Calvin and the Church, and Is the Father of Jesus the God of Muhammad? He also serves as the general editor of the Reformation Commentary on Scripture, a twenty-eight volume series of sixteenth-century exegetical comment. He serves on the editorial advisory boards of First Things, Christianity Today, and Books & Culture. He is a life advisory trustee of Wheaton College. An ordained minister in the Southern Baptist Convention, he has served on the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches, and has chaired the Doctrine and Christian Unity Commission of the Baptist World Alliance. He is married to Denise Wyse George, a well-known author, and they have two adult children, Christian and Alyce.
