B.S. in Administrative Management from Southwest Missouri State University (MSU)
Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological School

David grew up in Kansas City, MO as a pastor's kid. He married his wife Kelly in 1990, and they have three beautiful daughters named Erin, Allison, and Emily. David moved to the Philadelphia area in 1999 and has been part of starting churches in NE Philadelphia, Warrington/Horsham area, and now West Chester. He loves working with people to see them grow in their relationship with God and discover their spiritual gifts to serve God, the church, and the community.
Here’s what a few Journey church members have to say:
“David's doctrinal values are conservative and firmly rooted in the Bible, but where most Baptist-style preachers skirt the line of legalism, David is clearly anything but. His flouts traditional, legalistic expectations of the conservative faith; challenges you to really examine your heart on an on-going basis; lives a life of open, transparent humility; and has a truly deep desire to reach his community. Just when you think you've figured him out, he does something unexpected, and yet deeply moving. And he likes good BBQ; how can you go wrong with that?”
“My husband and I went to The Journey for the first time a little over a year ago, and we loved it after hearing our first sermon. Dave does a great job at delivering God's word and teaching us ways to live Christ-filled lives daily. Dave Pearson is not only my favorite pastor, but a great friend. He's approachable, fun to be around, and the kind of person I know is always willing to lend a hand and help those in need. If you're looking for a church that feels like home, David and The Journey are all that and more.”
"Just when you thought it was safe to go back to church....... Four Stars!!! Pearson is a non-stop thrill ride of passion and faithfulness. He'll have you on the edge of your seat one minute and jumping out of it to change the world the next! **This pastor is rated "X" for strong convictions and extreme submission to the will of God.** May not be suitable for lukewarm christians.
